Subject: So I saw the new Bernina 780 today :) Date: 7/12/12 8:37 PM I got a glimpse!
Dang, it's pretty!
I had my daughter and grandbabe with me... so I only had two hours to mill around the whole show. I'll probably go back on Saturday by myself so I can really take time to look at machines more closely.
Oh - $9,000 show price. -- Edited on 7/12/12 8:43 PM -- ------ nightowlsally.com
On my radar someday: Babylock Serger, and some machine for travel.
My dearest wish is to have Bernina come out with a machine that doesn't give me a reason to *not* buy it.
2012: New Elna Lotus (mostly for granddaughter), Red Elna Press, Horizon 7700, Gidget 2 Table, Babylock Ellisimo Gold

Date: 7/12/12 10:05 PM It sure looks pretty in the photos!
Love the show price...coz it makes me feel better for spending half that on my new machine, lol!
How does the stainless steel hold up on the bed, does it get scratched up? I love how that looks, and it sure would be a great match to my home decor. A machine entirely in chrome...OMG I'd HAVE to have that!!! Brushed chrome on the upper areas where e Bernina is black, and polished chrome elsewhere...!!! ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! And Rupert (Pfaff 2023), Baby (BL Enlighten), Victor (BLCS), Ash (Bernina 350SE), Pal (Bernina 530), Kee (Bernina 750) and the Featherteen Flock!
Most of all, I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Until we meet again, my beautiful little boy. I love you. |

Date: 7/12/12 10:15 PM Lucky you! Did it look big?
In the photos it not only looks to be longer than the 580 but also taller and generally bigger all over. Like a 580 on growth hormones. Is this the case? ------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia

Date: 7/12/12 10:24 PM I'm surprised Bernina did not make this more affordable. The 730E was only around $6899. I'm sure it's a great machine, but if it's $9,000, I would skip it and buy the 830 for not that much more. Just my two cents. ------ ~Diana~

Date: 7/12/12 10:49 PM I have a 9 year old 185 with the stainless steel arm and it still looks wonderful. Fabrics just glide over it. No scratches yet!
