I am buying a new long arm and would like to know if anyone has any thoughts about the Baby Lock Crown Jewel? This is my first long arm and I really want to do my homework before I invest this much into a machine. Any comments would really help. Thank ya'll!annieufannie52@aol.com

I have a Baby Lock Crown Jewel and I love it. I have no issues with thread breaks or bad tension. Everything works great! And it is easy to use.

I don't have a long arm but have been looking & testing them out.
Tried the Gammel, Tin Lizzie, Sweet 16 & a couple others that weren't memoriable... loved the Baby Lock Crown Jewel...that was my favorite from testing.
However, experienced long arm owners advised me to go to a long arm convention. Said you can try out even more brands that I didn't even know existed.
Now sure what convention to attend... maybe some long arm quilters can recommend one.

I don't know about long-arm specific shows, but all of the big longarm names (and most of the small ones) have a booth every year at Houston Quilt Festival. This year it's Nov 1-4. Lots of longarm classes, too.

Thank you. Someday we'll get to Houston. :)
