Introducing Pfaff Creative Performance video Fairly gorgeous machine, purple and sleek looking n'est ce pas? There are some members here who are in the enviable position of acquiring a Pfaff Creative Performance (PCP). These brave stalwart souls have tread early and spent freely for the furtherance of machine knowledge on this premier sewing machine review site. They have done (or are doing) in depth research so that any purple obsessed sewist may investigate this machine to make an informed purchase choice should they desire it. With daring, comes enthusiasm, and thus our desire to infect you with it as well. Enter at your peril. We confess no responsibility to your Christmas budget, child's college savings account, fate of your IRA and following tax consequences nor credit limit. It is merely our duty to enable and delight in the purple nerdy heady haze that leads one to operate and experience this outstanding machine. '/> This is the first Pfaff TOL that is offered for sale with or without the embroidery unit. The model is designed to replace the Creative Vision 4. The Pfaff Website with Creatve Performance This machine has a drop-in bobbin. When ordering feet and accessories for this machine, look for the "J" series or category. If you purchase this machine's embroidery unit, do not discard the black styrofoam packaging. This packaging fits into the carrybag, filling it out and nestles the embroidery unit securely. Before using the embroidery unit, please remove the red clip underneath which has been placed there to keep the parts secure during shipping. When unpacking the machine, please remove the accessory box from the freearm and then remove the square of styrofoam that is underneath it. When first turning on the machine, give it a bit of time to boot up. Don't forget to register your machine online at the Pfaff website for the warranty. Okay, you can breathe now. Right now what intrigues me are these, as they are not on my machine: Stacking Stitches Stitch Positioning - move the decorative stitches all the way to right or left for better allignment. I'd love to see this in action. Some deco stitches are so hard to keep in line. Hover foot and IDT Stitch Creator (this Pfaff also has the stitch sequencing which my machine calls Combi mode. While mine does directional stitching, which is interesting, I'm curious as to the difference between using that and creating completely unique new stitches.) 10 inch harp Embroidery: Cuts jump stitches Precise positioning Enlarge or reduce without changing stitch count - interesting, though I can do this with software, it's nice to have on the machine. Basting in the hoop Large embroidery field. 13x14 I'd love to see a chart of the deco stitches. Some of the stitches on my machine I love, some aren't my style and I know I'll never use them. Also, many repeat, just in a different size or only slightly different. Now, I'll have to follow this thread and see what all else people add to it as they use it. And then of course compare to the new Bernina 7 line. First here is the Owner's Manual pdf download site You can decide in the settings menu if you want the machine to cut the jump stitches automatically. I will have to work on posting some images of the different screens for the different menus/submenus and explain how the alignment works. I have to work the next few days but will address every point/question. Change the angle of taper for unlimited opportunities. You can even embroider wonderful tapers in the hoop. Patchwork program – Sew your seam and the PFAFF® creative performance™ sewing and embroidery machine will remember the seam length to repeat over and over. Use with utility or decorative stitches for special effects. Single stitch program – Set exact number of stitches or sequence repeats you wish to sew. Mirror image of stitches – Flip the stitch side to side and/or end to end for even more possibilities. Stitch positioning – Moves complete stitch right or left to easily align decorative stitches. Stitch density – The stitch density control adjusts the density, the distance between stitch points that make up the entire stitch. Density can be increased or decreased without affecting stitch length.

Date: 7/20/12 1:49 AM I *think* MSRP is $3999 for the machine only, and $5999 for the machine with the large embroidery setup. BUT, at least here, there are major deals to be had. I traded in my QE4 (less than a year old) and only paid what it would have cost me to purchase the embroidery unit alone. It was an open box deal--so the machine had an hour and 19 minutes of sewing on it. Otherwise looked perfect and new in every way. I do have to go back and get my stylis though--it was the only thing missing, and we just missed getting it back into the box.
