Hi lucky you!!

What shape are you and do you have a style preference? I'm sure someone here has a nice pattern recommendation depending on what style you like.

I'd make a princess seam top, but that's just me :)

Sadly, I'm 15 pounds overweight. Near the age of retirement but still teach at a high school in Florida. I have read so much about this fabric in PR, that I wanted to see it " in the flesh".
I went over my pattern stash but they are or too formal or too girlish. So I'm looking at something somewhat in the middle.

how about this:

Vogue 8650
Not too formal, or girlish, made for a lightweight fabric, flattering neckline, approved for all body types, illustrated in a ditsy print!
-Vogue on sale at hancock's July 27-30 for 3.99 (NAYY) just got my flyer.

There was recently a big trend localy of button-down made in liberty.
Not my style, but I thought it looked nice - half tailored, half floral. You can also add solid accent to tone it down (inside collar stand, cuffs, etc).

I agree completely. The fabric is busy enough that clean lines are the way to go.

In my mind I always see Tana Lawn in a camp style shirt- short sleeves, double breast pockets, open collar and button down shirt front. Very traditional, very "Preppy".....Love that look. Love your fabric choice. Have shopped Liberty and find the fabric department disappointing compared to what they carried 15 years ago.

My suggestions:

Sorbetto (with a teal or coral binding, maybe even a cute button at the top of the pleat) (Someone even drafted sleeves for it if you don't want to go sleeveless).

Burda Alexander blouse love the peplum on this.

Simplicity 2892, View C (with the band at the bottom) - I really liked Bendy's and FullertonRegan's versions of this.

I wasn't going to try this view until I saw this -

Now I just want to get the right fabric!

I also like the idea of a camp shirt if you can find the right pattern.
