Date: 7/27/12 2:40 AM I need a pintuck foot and was looking at the clear #46 as an option. Has anyone tried this, and does it have 3 grooves or 5. Also has anyone used it with decorative stitching, and how did that work out? Thanks! |

Date: 7/27/12 10:04 AM Not sure where in LA you are but when this foot first came out AAA Sew Vac in Torrance had some lovely samples out using it with the decorative stitching. I tend to think of it more as a decorative foot with pintucking, had one for my Pfaff, not (yet?!) for my Bernina. If I wanted to do strictly pintucking I would buy a regular pintuck foot though, they come in 3, 5, 7 or 9 groove which I think is more accomodating size and spacing wise. On 46 the pintuck "tunnels" are much further apart.
PS I'm moving to LA from south OC as I've been working midWilshire but will be living further north -- any sewing groups, ASG, etc. you would recommend? I work dangerously close to Mood and F&S so will ask around there, and will be living walking distance from a Bernina dealer/fabric store , have worked for my dealer for many years so that will be nice. Thanks! ------ Karen

Date: 7/27/12 10:24 AM I'm really wanting this foot, and wish I'd have bought it last year when it was on sale that month. I know Carol M has one, maybe she'll pipe in.

Date: 7/27/12 1:46 PM My dealer is having a big sale on Saturday, and the #46 foot is tops on my list. I have a couple of the regular pintuck feet, but that one really looks like fun. And a god excuse for all those decorative stitches I have now on the 730... ------ Tess

Date: 7/27/12 3:52 PM I have that foot, but have never used it. I bought it with the coupon from Bernina several months ago. I'll have to take a look at it when I get home from work and let you know later. ------ Bernina 730E; 440QE; Vintage 121; Babylock Imagine; Janome 900 Coverstitch

Date: 7/27/12 7:57 PM Karen, thx for the reply. I know there is a South Bay ASG neighborhood group but I have not ventured that far South. The list (and there are quite a few) is at http://www.asgla.org/ng.html.
Thx to all who have replied for the feedback on the 46! -- Edited on 7/27/12 7:58 PM -- |
