I'm wondering if folks have ideas on where to list fabric to sell. I'm doing Craigslist, Facebook and a Yahoo board, but I have a ton to sell (destashing fabric I am NEVER going to use - LOL) and would like to list in as many spots as possible to try and sell as much as possible. Suggestions??

Thanks!!

Here on PR classifies if you're a paid member.

SewItsForSale Yahoo group.

Swapmeets, rummage sales, eBay, etsy.

I've had good luck with craigslist. I've sold by the piece and in lots. I didn't want to have to mail out. I've also sold at garage sales--my neighbor used to have them a cpl times a yr so I would just put some stuff out during her sales.
Good luck--it sure feels good having the stash down!

Facebook detash lists. Fabric seems to move very fast on there.

I have been thinking the same thing. My tastes have changed and I am becoming bothered by the clutter that too much "stuff" causes. Fabrics must be freed into the world where they can do some good and not stay locked on a shelf.

I am thinking of doing a Sewing oriented yard sale, a notifying area sewing groups of the sale.

Sewitsforsale is a very active group! I'd definitely try there (as someone suggested). It's amazing.

"Fabrics must be freed into the world where they can do some good....". Love this quote! Inspires me to clean out some stuff I'll probably never use, and let it go to someone who WILL use it. On to clean the sewing room!

These are all good suggestions! I've done a fabric garage sale with a friend in the past and that was a good way to destash a bit... I'll check out the Yahoo group someone mentioned. I also didn't want to go the ebay/etsy route - been there, done that in the past and it just takes a lot of administration, so maybe the other suggestions are my first stop!

Thanks!!

Uh oh... this post is an enabler. I've discovered new places to purchase fabric! How exactly does Facebook destash work? I googled it and found some examples of people's destash pages. Do you just message the person if you want to buy?
