We buy canned cat food by the case and keep the case in the broom closet in the kitchen. Last night, I went to get a can out and discovered that a mouse has chewed off all the labels of all the cans in the case. The mouse has also chewed off every single bristle on my wisk broom. What a way to find out we have mice! With two indoor cats that have nothing better to do all day and night, I would have thought that mice would not be a problem. They better start earning their keep!

We also have a stray cat that lives out in our back yard. This morning I watched as 6 pigeons stood around her bowl eating all her cat food. The brave ol' outside cat sat no more than 3 feet away and watched the birds eat. The cat then had the nerve to come over to me and complain because she has no food. Go figure. Never would have thought I would have a pigeon problem with a cat living on my patio. Seems I have the only cat in the world that doesn't like to chase birds.

You mean there is such a thing as useful cats?

Let me put a positive spin on this. You have very Buddhist-like pets, unwilling to hurt other living creatures. If they were your children, you would be proud of them
Then again, maybe they are just scared

This doesn't surprise me much.. I have seen how many cats here at PR get along so well with Featherweights.

You can actually review your cat here; maybe you could shame them a little.

Cats are "funny" with a mind of their own. Yrs. ago we had a cat who considered herself off-duty in the house. She was an excellent mouser, outside only! I'd leave the broom closet door open enough for the cats to poke around in there & see what happens. Sometimes mice don't like the smell of cats. The cat I have now would spend hours sitting & waiting for the mouse to appear once she caught the scent. Would catch it & leave it for me to dispose of. Just a toy to her.

Smart cat!! We had a seagull that attacked my neighbor's cat last year..dive bombing and pecking him. The ducks will also chase cats..now the ducks sleep in the yard and the cats stay inside until they are gone!

My cats have let a raccoon and an opossum in without a growl, but now won't let a stray cat come in.

My best mouser got swooped by Blue Jays and is a big puss, scared of birds. But what a mouser! If the mice were smart they'd hire the birds for protection.
