I'm nearly done Jalie 2909 and they fit pretty good (will post a pic soon!). The only problem is, I have about a 1.5 cm hem if I want to wear heels. If I serge the bottom and do this small hem, do you think this will work? Or would you just give a 1'' hem and always wear with flats?
Just for fun:

Just an idea that I used with a son who grew inches and inches taller without gaining an ounce. -- Edited on 8/5/12 11:45 PM -- ------ Corinne |

Date: 8/6/12 5:42 PM These look pretty long, they are puddling on the floor. How high a heel are you looking to wear? You can always face the hem so that you can use a blindstitch or hand hem for a deeper hem. Next time you can make the pattern longer. It's hard to tell what fabric you used, but I only machine hem with topstitching for denim or other sporty fabric. ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |

Date: 8/6/12 6:44 PM I ended up remeasuring and I was able to do a scant 1'' hem and still have enough to wear a 2'' heel. Yes, at 5'9 I still feel the urge to be taller
The fabric is a wool/lycra (I think, it was in the clearance bin) and I used the blind stitch on my machine. |
