Date: 8/6/12 8:47 PM I would like to see your suggestions of what you make to wear with that cute Jalie cardi! Slim pants/skirt, or what? |

Date: 8/6/12 9:21 PM Pants or skirts would be the options. Slim pants are just pants in my size. I suppose it could be a dress as well.

Date: 8/7/12 11:44 AM My suggestion is the shapely shirt from Petite Plus. I love this blouse and have made it with and without sleeves.
My go to pattern for pants is Silhouette #3200. I have used it to fit a number of plus size women and it has not failed me yet.

Date: 8/7/12 5:09 PM The Hot Patterns Weekender Sunshine Top seems to flatter plus sizes - heck it flatters just about everyone!
I'm dying to make it!

Date: 8/7/12 5:15 PM Those are very nice patterns. Simple lines with gentle shaping. I haven't tried silhouette yet but am very tempted. Petite Plus is designed for full bust, D cup, rounded belly, narrow shoulders.
I'm not petite or narrow shouldered but I think it would be easier to alter those patterns to fit me than most.

Date: 8/7/12 5:20 PM I've heard many good things about hot patterns and I've watched all of her videos. I've got my eye on a few of her designs. The sunshine top is one of them. Fabric.com sometimes has 50% off sales on hot patterns. One day I will try them.

Date: 8/8/12 9:23 AM You can look up reviews from Marie-Claude, Debbie Cook and michellep74. They've sewn a number of HPs with great results. Basically, everyone who has made the Tie Me Down top has had an awesome result. Also, the Cote d'Azur top/dress has been very popular, and the Uptown/Downtown dress. The U/D dress has also been successful with basically everyone who has made it. Gemaki, Michelle L, and Reesie (among others) are 3 who've made some really lovely versions. |
