Hi!
I am new to this machine (as some of you may recall, this is the machine that got dropped by my aunt on the first day I had it; now it is repaired and back home).
No matter what I do, I can't get the telescopic thread guide (which was replaced by the dealer) to extend more than 11". The book and instructional video say it should be 14". Is there a trick to this? Since my dealer is an hour away, I can't just pop in for a demo of the right way to do it .

More information--I called my dealer to see if he could help. He went and measured the length of the guide on the Imagine in his shop and said it was 11", but the guide on his Enlighten was 14. So he thinks that the instruction manual and video are wrong. Any thoughts?

IIRC, Imagine is 11", as is the Imagine Wave, and the Evolution and Enlighten are 14".

No idea why these models have longer guides. Anyhoo, if the three sections click into place, you're good to go.

Yes, that's just what mine does. I was just so worried because of the 14" mentioned in the manual. I kept thinking that it must pull out more. I'm kind of surprised that no one has corrected the manual after all the years that the Imagine has been out.
