Having researched clear elastic, Lastin seems to be the best choice for use in garment necklines, seam stays, and leotards. I haven't been able to determine the best weight for these applications and do not have a local source. Any information pertaining to Lastin would be greatly appreciated!

I have tried both Lastin and the generics, and I believe the generics perform just as well and last just as long. As far as weight goes, clear elastic comes in only one weight (thickness) but I have seen it in different widths 1/4" and 3/8". I use the 1/4" width.

Londa's creative may sell the lastin. If not, I purchase elastic from Kathy Ruddy but I don't know the "brand."

Here is a site that sells 1/4" and 3/8"
DSS (Diaper Sewing Supply)

I noticed it when I was buying FOE:-) I had a good shopping experience with them. The elastic appears to be around .40 yd...

Thank you for your replies! I will try the sources mentioned. I have never used it, but was told in a class and have read that it is the best clear elastic available. It sounds as if one has to apply it correctly or it will tear. I appreciate PR!!

Wawak, as well as their sister site Cleaner's Supply, both carry generic clear elastic, which performs just as well as the "Lastin" brand.
