Hey all - so my mom gave me her sewing machine which my grandmother bought for her in the late 50's. It's a Bellecraft sewing machine made in Japan. It needs a belt, and a light for starters. The parts are all moving, but I'm assuming it needs some oil as well. I haven't plugged it in yet, but I'd like to see a manual before I do that.

Anyone have any info on it or know where to find some? I'd like to get it working as it looks like it's a good solid machine.

Here are some pics for you:

Bump - I've done some googling and havne't found much on this. I'd love to get it up and working again! I can't imagine it being too hard to do, but I need some type of help via instructions or something.

Thanks!

Have you looked at the bottom of it? I think it looks very much like some of the Morse or Brother machines. If you tilt it up, you may find Brother or Toyota stamped into the metal or on a rod.

Lots of companies ordered machines from Japanese manufacturer's and then put their store labels on them. This may be one of those.

There are basic machine manuals on the web..try matching the picture on the manual cover with your machine..the dial on the lower right is your feed dog adjustment and the post on the upper right is your pressure adjustment if you haven't already discovered that.

Someone with more knowledge may have more answers for you.

You might try this site to identify the machine..

I don't have any information for you, but just want to say what a beautiful machine it is. Your mom kept it in great condition. Hope you find what you need. Annette

There are instructions for a White 565 Super Zig Zag c. 1966 on Ebay...the drawing on the cover looks like your machine. I just entered Super Zig Zag 545. Hope this helps- at least to narrow down the make.

Thanks everyone for the information.

I looked everywhere I could last night, but could not find another mark anywhere that would tell me who manufactured it. I did see a big N under it... but not sure what that would be. And I did find the serial number. But that's it in terms of markings.

I did another search using the 565 Super Zig Zag and everything that pops up is associated with a White - so at the moment I'm going to assume that the manufactured was White. But I will continue to look as I really would like to find out more about this machine.

Thanks for your help!
