The same way you thread it for any other type of fabric.

If you need a manual, try the company's website. Sometimes the manual is available to download and other times, you need to contact customer service.

Another place to check for threading instructions would be SEWUSA. Here is the link.

Threading will be as in the Viking Manual, and then you probably will use your Sewing Advisor and set the machine for the foot pressure and tension first the way it shows you, and then be sure you have a new needle - if light cotton, you might want a sharp 12 needle. If even lighter, you might want a 10 needle - what kind of cotton? Be sure you have the thread through the tension correctly because that makes a huge difference! Tell us more?

Then, e-mails were written on paper and put in weird paper things called envelopes and the postal system delivered them. This was slow. Finally, e-mail as we know it came around."

Hi... I'm a new member, so this might be a late reply to an old post.

I just bought the Topaz 20 and had a problem with the needle threader right out of the box. Threading both the top and bobbin was the first thing I tried out after unpacking it. I used the pre-installed thread that came with the machine. It seemed much easier in the store, so maybe mine was off, but it appears that the little hook that goes into the eye of the needle to catch the thread wasn't always getting in there, but after some adjustment of the needle height and trial and error, it does work.

Incidentally, this was my first big purchase of a sewing machine ($1999) and a Husqvarna Viking, so I expected a more user-friendly experience. It started to irk me that at the price I paid that it didn't come with an a thread-cutter button, when so many others in the same price range and less have that feature. Anyway, the needle threading experience was just one of the reasons why I'm returning it. Now I'm off to research other sewing machines.

No matter the brand or model, you need to have the needle at the correct height for the threader to work.

The fine wire the hook is made of can be easily bent out of place.
