Date: 8/16/12 11:01 AM I have been looking for some time for the name of interfacing used in men's ties. It is a denser type fabric that gives the tie its body.
Would love to hear from anyone who might know. Thank you |

Date: 8/16/12 11:33 AM are you making ties? You could buy some thrift store ties and take them apart; I've seen some very nice ones locally. ------ Viking Lily 545

Date: 8/16/12 11:44 AM They make it easy by calling it "tie interfacing"! B. Black and Sons sells it by the yard. It is 63" wide which is nice if you would need to cut in on the bias for ties. ------ Liz

Subject: interfacing used in mens ties Date: 8/16/12 7:05 PM The $11.50 per yard, 63" wide interfacing at B.Black is a much better value than the $9.50 per yard, 22" wide interfacing at Silhouette Patterns. ------ The essence of life is statistical improbability on a colossal scale.

Date: 8/17/12 10:13 AM I have made quite a few ties for a school uniform shop. I needed to keep within a very small budget. i used "shoe canvas" sold at Fabricland in canada, a more coarse fabric, cream coloured. it worked very well and was about $5 a yard. |
