I was looking at the Denver Fabrics website this morning and they are having a 50% off fabric sale. Under that heading there are several categories for fabrics at specific prices. I was looking at the $1.99 section, but there are many fabrics in there that are more than $1.99. Does anyone know what is going on? I emailed them, but I just thought I would ask here.

It happens every sale that I've seen. Of course, the whole site is not exactly user friendly, so I always chalk it up to that.

The shipping is also very high, so it keeps me from ordering a lot with the site not being very organized.

I recently placed an order for two different cuts of ITY fabric that I wanted to use for muslin.

One was sold out and they sent the other (after charging my card for the full amount). They didn't ask about it (I would have cancelled the whole order if I had been asked).

My credit card wasn't refunded until I called them (a day or two after the order hit my doorstep).

They didn't do anything *wrong* but I didn't feel like their customer service was up to par. The least they could have done was to charge my card for the correct amount instead of helping themselves to a free loan for two weeks. (It was only $10 but sheesh!) I also wondered how long the refund would have taken had I not called them.

It was a big hassle to shop with them and I feel like there are plenty of other businesses I'd rather try.

Mary, I don't call and every order has something sold out from it. Either Denver or Fashion Fabrics Club.

I get the refund within a week of receiving my order, and it is the fabric plus the shipping if applicable. I have placed a comment that if anything is sold out to contact me/cancel the order and that has been done. They just don't seem to do it like others as a matter of course.

ETA: I was contacted once without requesting it, now that I posted, and it was my first order. Since then, unless I specifically ask...nothing. But I have found that I have to specifically tell every company but Fabric.com to contact me if it is sold out BEFORE they ship anyway.

I think it's your browser. I just went there to check, and I clicked on the "sale" column at the top of the page. A bunch of Price categories came up, and I clicked on $1.99 and everything (120 fabrics) all said $1.99. However, most of them had the regular price in black type and then a different font in red with the sale price. Maybe in your browser it's getting cut off.

I'm in Safari, on a mac.

I know I'm being picky but I think they could just charge your card for what they ship to begin with. That's what bugged me the most.

But I only ordered the second cut because I was ordering anyway. It's frustrating!

Oh I understand completely, but everyone charges first then refunds if it's out. I hate to tell you how much I have in my paypal account over this from fabric shopping.

And as much as I talk about complaining on here (I really don't as often as it appears) I totally get it, really. I think they charge first, then pull the order and if they have to refund last to make sure they'll get the money.

And no, it doesn't make sense to me either. If we did it, they'd be mad as heck.
