Date: 8/22/12 11:18 AM I have several ideas I've wanted to do for a long time. But I really would like to do a type of Medieval scene. Maybe a castle,knight and a dragon. Or a Knight castle dragon and woman. But I can't draw with a you know what so I've been looking at line art. Does anyone have a process the go through when creating these kind of quilts?For example enlarging and image. And also would it be a copyright variation if I took the outline of a picture. ------

Date: 8/23/12 7:52 AM You can take it to a local copy center to have the image enlarged and then trace off it as a master pattern. As for copyright, I wouldn't be concerned unless it was leaving your home. In that case, you can contact the author and ask for permission. Dover has thousands of images you can incorporate into items without worrying about copyright issues. |

Date: 8/25/12 7:56 AM I had forgotten on my printer I can print poster size so can enlarge a design quilte a lot. And then I can trace off the sections on vellum. I brought vellum as a subsitute for some paper piece quilting paper I got from my dealer to print the design paper piece design on. So you can see through a paper piecing when when placing embroidery. Vellum is a tad thicker but worked well. It makes great tracing paper. I'm working on a piece with a castle, knight damsel and maybe a dragon. ------

where you can enlarge art and make posters of any size -- for free, using your own printer -- as long as your image is a gif or jpg (jpeg).
I love this site: I use it to make big CHEEP posters for my classroom all the time.

Date: 8/25/12 8:20 AM I guess I didn't explain it very well I have HP software that does that. I was able to make a castle picture a perfect size for my project. just print out sections and tape or glue the together. The better the picture to start with the better results resizing. ------
