Date: 8/24/12 10:28 PM Speaking of the book, did anyone else find it as boring as I did? I couldn't even get past the first couple of pages, I thought it was so badly written, and the girl was so vapid, ick.
I looked at the "good parts" and they were so boring I couldn't get through them, either.
Is it me? I am just so old and out of it that I don't get it? Or am I too old to be interested in something so dull? ------ Barb |

I read the free preview available at Amazon for Kindle - not interested, thank you very much. Crappy writing, not all that interesting. I wouldn't have even finished the free preview except for all the crazy raves about the book. I kept wondering when it was going to get better!
I did, however, read this utterly hilarious review - there should be links to her reviews of the other two books, as well. OMG! I laughed so hard! ------ khurtdvm

Date: 8/25/12 9:01 AM I clicked on the link above to read the article and my DH was sitting on the rocker and asked what I was reading. I said "Shades of Grey", and he got all interested lol. ------ Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)

Date: 8/25/12 9:22 AM I didn't read it (and won't, because I think it's thinly veiled plagiarism ), but many people in the BDSM community absolutely hate it for its inaccurate and vapid portrayal of those activities. The other people that I know (non-bdsmers) that read it still thought it was beyond dull and terribly unsexy. Trust me, these are not "vanilla" intimacy type of people so if they said it wasn't sexy .... My most adventurous (to put it mildly) female friend said she stopped reading it half way because it was silly. Just reporting what I heard Fransdottir. You are not alone.
However, it seems to have at least sparked some interest in alternative intimate play and some people really enjoy it. I guess it is one of those things one either love or hates.
As for the link- I think she actually looks more beautiful and interesting now than she did when she was younger. Perhaps its the snowy white hair. It suits her.

Date: 8/25/12 12:28 PM The link was hilarious. Ihave not read the book & probably won't. I like romance but that does not sound like anything I would want to read. |
