Needles for a Pfaff Hobbylock What type of needle do I need

In the book it says to purchase needles # 130/705H 15x1H. At my local store the lady gave me the # 130/705H but the suffix 15x1H is not on the package, and the needles do not work at all, the loops form before fabric goes in, but the minute I engage the fabric in the machine, the loops no longer form and its just a serie of skipped stitches, the thread does not break and as soon as the fabric is passed the foot the loops start forming again. So my question is: Is there a difference between 130/705H 15x1H and 130/705H ? Or maybe my machine is due for a doctor check-up I also tried old needles forgotten in my pin cushion and beside the occasional skipped stitch, the machine works fine. Funny I have owned this machine for so many years this has never been a problem before, I guess I have been lucky. Can anyone help me out there -- Edited on 8/25/12 6:56 PM --

Date: 8/26/12 10:15 AM They are the same. 705H, HAx1, PFx130, 130R, and 15x1 are all the same needle but different machine manufacturers assigned different numbers. The 705H is the European numbering system and the 15x1 is Singer's. As the machine is working fine with your old needles it could be just a bad apple in the new bunch; have you tried another new one? ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! Sometimes this requires loosening both needles. Flat side to the back, when I have problems with stitches I test on cotton muslin. France Intermediate QC CANADA Member since 9/25/05 Posts: 137	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 8/27/12 1:29 AM Thanks to all for the replies, i tried all week-end to find out what's wrong with my machine. Turns out the needle shaft probably got loose and de-synchronized with the loopers, thus the stitches not forming. I was able to access the shaft screw from the side of the machine (near the light bulb) and by adjusting the shaft height a little bit my machine is now working fine. Small detail but it sure took a while to figure that one out. I am still experiencing fluctuation in the actual tension of the stitches though, i am not sure what causes that. -- Edited on 8/27/12 1:31 AM --

It might have happened once before but I had forgotten about it. I have owned it for at least 13 years, so I suppose it's normal that a few screws end up loose a little.
