Date: 8/29/12 1:00 PM I'm making slippers and I have been using gripper fabric for the soles. Problem is I can only find it in white. The white gets so dirty quikly and I would like to find a dark colour, but where? Please help! ------ Susan

Date: 8/29/12 2:26 PM I think it is geography. I'm in the northwest and am familiar with these companies. I own some of the black grippy stuff myself. |

Date: 8/29/12 7:16 PM I bought some of this for slippers last year (see 2nd pic, labeled "bumpy"). Kind of pricey, but I only needed a small amount. |

Date: 8/29/12 7:22 PM That is the same product. Seattle Fabric gets a lot of their stock from The Rain Shed. I don't know if they have both surface options. -- Edited on 8/29/12 7:22 PM -- |

Date: 8/29/12 9:18 PM How much grip do you need? I've used fabric puff paint on soles for my nephew. I even did a little design with the paint. |

Date: 8/30/12 0:51 AM Thank you ladies! Just had it proved again why I love PR! Always amazing to get help from the sewing community! Know where to order from now. Great idea with the fabric puffer paint! Never would have thought of that. I'm making slippers for adults so don't need too much grip. Thanks! ------ Susan

Date: 8/30/12 0:59 AM Someone here suggested using rug-pad-type material, sometimes sold as shelf liner.* It does wear out but it's very grippy while it lasts.
There are different grades and colors--I've used black for costume footwear.
*There are a couple of other suggestions here. Edited to add: actually, this is the thread where I saw the suggestion, from Leslie from NZ. Great PR advice. And reminds me that I have spoken of making slippers for the family this fall.... -- Edited on 8/30/12 1:03 AM -- ------ Jeanne

Date: 8/30/12 11:13 AM I have to mention the suede option. You can buy ready made slipper soles.
