HELP!!! Armscythe problems Dress for my sister for a wedding next week!

I've had some fit issues, but I'm taking in the top and sides of the skirt and those are going fine. But the armhole is also a little on the tight side for her and I don't know how I can possibly fix this without re-cutting the whole top!? It would be REALLY difficult to re-do the armholes themselves because of the type of self-fabric armband used and I can't add anything to the side seams cuz that fits perfectly. Can I add something to the shoulder seam? Will that help?? I guess I'd still have to re-do the armbands (PITA), but I don't know what else to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Then recut your bands to the new bigger size and sew them back on. Or you could just take them off all together, cut the armholes bigger and use a facing instead of a band. ------ Sewing is my therapy!

I would just take the band off, make the adjustment you need, then make a small hem or bias facing. Much less work in volved

I sometimes get tunnel vision about stuff like this and reach for the seam ripper instead of thinking it through. ------ Debbie

I think I used it for one of my dresses in July. It is not stretchy-I don't know if that is part of the problem. I would take the armbands off, cut the armhole deeper and use facings instead of the armband? It should be cute in the pattern! Hope you can fix this-it is always something when you have a deadline-at least it is for me.

Maybe if I cut them on the bias instead they will be a little more flexible?! PLUS the skirt has to be taken in AGAIN which requires me basically taking it apart! UGH!
