I was sure I found instructions for this somewhere but now of course, can't find them. I have decorative coring that I am using for making wine bags as gifts. I like the ends to be joined nicely on the draw string so that if it comes out of its little tunnel, it won't look awful, which my current system does.

I find I can unravel it slightly and line up the two ends to that it looks ok, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get a stitch through it without having 3 or 4 more hands!

Leave the casing open on both ends (sides of the bag) then run two cords in opposite directions. Tie into knots that hide the cut ends. You can also Fray Check the ends and tie when dry.

Really good tutorial! I can never describe it well. A picture's worth a thousand words.

Thanks Selina - I did find quite a few like yours, though your photos are particularly good. I am joining cording that is not on bias tape. What I finally did is to make it seem like there is tape on it by sticking the ends to a piece of fabric with wash away wonder tape, sewing the cord ends onto the fabric, then rolling the fabric up and sewing through that. I want to have the join inside the casing so I can make nice knots like these and maybe string wine charms or beads etc. through them.

I have the photos done for a wine bag tutorial on my blog but September is crazy busy for me. I will post it asap.
