Date: 9/5/12 7:20 PM I looked back and couldn't find a thread about the new Babylocks so if there is one I apologize for starting another one. I got an email from a dealer about 4 new machines they will have this fall.
There is the Tiara which is a long-arm, the Unity which is a sewing and embroidery machine, the Cresenado a quilter/sewer, and the Spirit. Sorry I can't post pics but they are on the Babylock site. Surely I am not the first to see these and they all look nice--wish I had lots of money... |

Date: 9/5/12 9:23 PM I saw them at my BL dealer for a sneek peek. The Tiara is really pretty, and comes with the adjustable table. i forgot to try out the pen positioning thingy, was too busy buying more stuff for Panzy.
There were a lot of interested seamsters checking everything out! ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! And Rupert (Pfaff 2023), Baby (BL Enlighten), Victor (BLCS), Ash (Bernina 350SE), Pal (Bernina 530), Kee (Bernina 750) and the Featherteen Flock!
Most of all, I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Until we meet again, my beautiful little boy. I love you. |

Date: 9/5/12 10:33 PM Seriously?! It was sitting out...where was it...there was the 16 needle thingy and then the 8 needle thingy...I'm pretty sure it was up towards the windows. Oh and the Embellisher was on a heck of a good price.
I'm pretty sure I didn't dream the Tiara, coz my thought at the time was to bring my silk quilt in (when it's actually sewn) and ask Betty to "show me how it works" ie have her quilt it for me. ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! Date: 9/5/12 10:35 PM You didn't dream it. It is on the website: Tiara. My dealer said they went to a training for all the new machines and will have them soon. |

Date: 9/5/12 10:50 PM Good plan LOL! Maybe I'll bring one in too. It must have been the one you saw cause the Tiara is the one with the table. I saw it on BL website. Date: 9/6/12 11:35 AM The Tiara looks nearly identical to the Handi Quilter Sweet 16, the sit-down 16" harp machine. ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸 |

Date: 9/6/12 11:37 AM I'm not positive...but I thought the msrp said $6,499 with the stitch regulator thingy. And I have no idea if that's good, bad, or indifferent. ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! Date: 9/6/12 11:38 AM Quiltingboard.com has someone reporting MSRP of the Tiara at $6499 with the stitch regulator.
The Handiquilter Sweet 16 is $6,190 with the stitch regulator.
They look identical, so I'm interested to know if there is any difference. Based on the name of the regulator, I'm pretty convinced the Tiara is a licensed version of the Sweet 16. Did Babylock add any features?
I'd love to know if anyone has experience with the TruStitch stitch regulator. It sits under the fabric, and it seems like it would be a huge pain, because wouldn't you have to either have a way to keep the fabric flat and level to the table, so the regulator moves, or else you would always have to be moving it to a new place on the quilt. Or maybe I misunderstand how it works. -- Edited on 9/6/12 11:40 AM -- |
