Here is a link to the dress on the website. It is described as "nylon polyester", but that is kind of vague. It sort of looks like a shiny shantung. Does anyone know what type of fabric it is? Thanks.

Date: 9/7/12 9:42 PM Brocade is very big this season and while this says it's printed, brocade would work very well for it. Mood has some a large selection online. -- Edited on 9/7/12 9:43 PM -- ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |

Date: 9/8/12 7:24 PM I have seen fabric like this before, and it is similar to a satin finish, but I do not like it as there are static issues, and that is probably why they use silk lining. |

Date: 9/8/12 10:52 PM Here is the same fabric on another Lela Rose dress. Net-a-Porter.com provided a better description: it's a multi-colored floral-print taffeta that is 84% nylon, 16% polyester; lining: 100% silk. Here is some similar at Mood.com here and here. Pretty pricey, but gorgeous! So you could see why a synthetic designer dress would cost that much. ------ Erica B.

Date: 9/10/12 9:14 AM If you're going for a more casual dress, would cotten sateen work? I'm not sure what that's like, exactly, but does it have a bit of a sheen to it? |
