What will they be sewing? Will they do their own cutting? Marking?

Date: 9/8/12 3:17 PM How about a pierce resistant tool roll with a slot for the scissors, one for the nippers, maybe a slot for tweezers and another slot or two for future use. No telling what your student's home storage might be. This would emphasize respect for the tools and also, tool safety. An empty spot with Velcro would leave room for a student project addition to the roll later.
Are your students old enough to start the habit of making notes on stitch length, needle size, etc. Small notepad or index cards? I can see this leading to a little project to hold the notecards.
I've been getting the itch to teach again and will be checking with the mom's of the older neighborhood girls to see if there is any interest.
Best wishes. ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |

Date: 9/8/12 3:35 PM Great ideas!
I have some fabric scraps left from the sewing machine totes, table top ironing board cover, and the wrist magnetic pin cushions I made!
I will start working on the tool holders right away! I doubt if I have enough scraps to do the notecard holders, but I have enough tiny scraps to make a lot of pattern weights! I will fill them with split shot fishing weights. ------ Six Elna Lotus/Stella sm [kid's sewing classes]
