I have been having trouble with my bobbin thread in my Symphony which lead me to strart to research bobbins. This is what my manual say for each:
Babylock Bobbin
Class 15, Actual size 11.5 mm, 7/16 inch, Item #X52800-150, part code: X52800-150
Actual size

Brother PE-770
Only use the Bobbin, part code: SA156, SFB: XA5539-151, 11.5 mm, 7/16 inch Actual size

I purchase what I thought was bobbins to work with my machines in bulk. They are suppose to be the SA156. Though when I had my husband use this tool that give exact measurements I am finding that some of the bobbins do no measure 11.5mm they measurer 11.3mm. My husband said this is such a small difference that it shouldn't matter. Will this matter? Does anyone else have trouble with after market bobbins in their machines? Is a Class 15 the same as the SA156 and does the Smyphony and Brother PE-770 actually use the same bobbin, I was told yes by both dealers. Can you get pre-wound bobbin thread for the Brother PE-770 with the SA156 bobbin, and when empty can you use as bobbins? I am trying to figure out if the problem is actually my bobbin or my thread. Not my needle, I changed it, not my machine, I cleaned it and it is only a couple months old.

Brother makes the Babylock and both your machines take the same bobbin. Packing is different depending on the brand but the actual bobbin is the same. The Brother bobbins have a slight blue hue to them. Generic bobbins aren't tight on specs, some are more flimzy bouncing inside machine. This can cause problems with winding a bobbin and tension in bobbincase. Janome makes pre wound bobbins for their embroidery machine and these fit into the Brother. It's a real bobbin that can be used after thread is gone. Nebs makes clear plastic bobbins, use provided spool pin. These are single used bobbins that shatter when thread is rewound onto them.
