Date: 9/13/12 8:21 AM I have some patterns with 3/4 sleeves with the turn back cuff but am wanting to make a short sleeve like from a woven tee style top into 3/4 for fall. The only pattern I seem to be finding is the vogue 8151 tee that is for knits. I am wanting to frankenmorph a woven short sleeve into a plain 3/4 one. Our weather will still be a long way from long sleeve wear and I think a woven tee style with a 3/4 sleeve would be nice to hide the ugly elbows. |

Date: 9/13/12 9:53 AM When you say woven T, are you looking for a tunic type pattern?
Or a woven shell?
A woven top will not fit as closely as the one you mention.

A woven top will not be fit as closely as the Vogue pattern. Check out

Date: 9/13/12 3:53 PM Very thought provoking seeing them grouped together as you did as that lets me see them all at once. I am sort of thinking a woven sleeve like the 8151 for knit that I could use on woven tops that already have a short of long sleeve. I am wondering if I could take the measurement of the length and bottom circumference with a bit added and draw it that way. I have the petite plus shell and was wanting to do a sleeve like the second picture in woven fabric. I am starting to wonder if it's not a good idea but can't see it would be different than a full length in woven. Thanks for the photos. I wonder if there is any guideline anywhere for the lengths. Being petite I am sure my rtw 3/4 sleeves are perhaps a bit longer than optimum. |

Date: 9/13/12 3:57 PM I have several woven shell /tee like patterns but no 3/4 sleeve included so that's why I was hunting a woven 3/4 sleeve to use as a guide for making one out of the short sleeve pattern that is included. |

Date: 9/13/12 4:53 PM Burda 2561 has a 3/4 sleeve - it goes up to size 20 which in Burda works for me and my plus-sized arms
Burda 7398 has 3/4 sleeves and is a plus size
Burda 8100 has a flared 3/4 sleeve, also plus-sized

Date: 9/13/12 5:22 PM Those two plus sized ones look like something easy to wear in warm weather fall places like I live in. I never look at the burdas unless someone mentions particular ones so thanks for linking them. On the 2561 that looks sort of like they faced the sleeve to finish it off or make a mock like cuff but it is hard to tell. I really like the simple sleeve look in that one. |
