(Ok, so the theme of today's postings is indie pattern companies)

I read FR blogger Éléonore's blog pachi-pachi after discovering her on Burdastyle because she made a cute bright pink Danielleand now she has her own pattern company, Deer&Doe, complete with related blog.

She's well-known in the FR sewing blogosphere for creating the sewing community site Thread and Needles.

The sizing measurement chart seems similar to Burda's chart.

I have a weakness for the Airelle blouse...in part because sometimes I mistype my own name that way (same number of letters, different place for the I, ).

Very 40s cuteness, non?

I do admire that her product is 100% made in France on recycled paper.

The patterns are 12,50 euros or $16.35 US each, shipping is $6.50 to North America, 7.50 for the rest of the world.

For now, everything is in FR but the EN is coming soon, according to the site.

Can you tell she's in IT? I can say nothing about the patterns, just want to put the info out there...

It's interesting, but in my opinion, not really distinctive enough. Looks like she was inspired by a number of US independent pattern companies, as much in the style of the garments as the general presentation of the line. The names of the patterns are plant names and that feels very much like Colette patterns, doesn't it?

I did think the same thing but this could be both good and bad.

Good, because it's a FR initiative. Bad, if she gets stuck doing familiar styles.

Let's wait and see...
