Date: 9/18/12 10:49 AM Would appreciate input from anyone who's made one of these totes. The instructions for the inside zipper pocket are a little vague.
After cutting the zipper slash, are we supposed to pull the pocket material through the slash to the wrong side of the material? |

Date: 9/30/12 6:59 AM I don't know the answer and haven't made these totes, but I'm bumping this up because you've been waiting a long time for a reply. ------ my shield and my very great reward (Gen. 15:1)

Date: 9/30/12 9:10 AM I looked for a review on this pattern. There was one done by Sophia.Sews from March of 2012. She said that the instructions for the zipper were a bit off from what the pattern actually was. Maybe you can send her a message if you haven't gotten any answers or solved the problem yourself. Good luck & happy sewing! |

Date: 10/1/12 9:36 AM Thanks for the bump and advice. I saw the review, but the linked blog was non-existant so I wasn't sure if that person was still connected to PatternReview.
I completed the zipper--the pocket material is pulled through the slash.
Now I'm stuck on connecting the lining to the outer bag (I'm working slowly). I'm making view C and the instructions don't mention the band around the top. The notches for the band match the notches on the lining, so I'm pretty sure I should connect to the band and not the outer bag. I just wish there were more pictures and clearer instructions.

Date: 10/1/12 10:22 AM Glad you made it through the zipper step...now, on to the lining. Is it possible for you to baste (set your machine on longest straight stitch) the lining to the band to see if it fits correctly? If it doesn't, the basting will make it easier to rip out; if it does fit, then just sew over the basting using your regular stitch length. Hope this helps! Good luck & feel free to ask more questions if needed! |
