What is the trick to stitching scalloped edges at the corners? I wanted to line a basket and used linen. My corners turned out horrible. So, I just cut it off and did a fringe instead.

However, I'm sure there is a trick or something to do them right! I wasted so much thread! Thanks.

Try this tutorial. I don't know the site, I had just googled the same thing last week!

That was a great lesson. I think I will try that on some of my tea towels (bottom trim). I would make smaller scallops of course. Great idea! Thanks!

I meant using the scalloped stitch on my machine. It does it in a tapered satin stitch. Then I was told use fray check after stitched around the outside (of the stitches), when dry clip next to stitch. Going in a straight line is great but when I try to turn to do a corner (I wanted the scallops to go around the liner), the corner is horrible. I was even careful where I turned it (where it was in the actually scallop).

Maybe I need to do them in straight lines being careful to stop at the very end of the last completed scallop. Start it all over again going the other direction. I don't know if this makes sense.

If anyone has a trick to this, I would love to know what it is!
