I'm a long-time seamstress and have never had this happen before, but the inseam of the pants do NOT match! I've looked at it every possible way, and there's no getting around it. They messed up on this pattern. Now what am I supposed to do? Figure it out somehow I reckon, but I recommend everybody stay away from this pattern. How do I complain? Is there any way to get them to reimburse me for the wasted fabric? Criminy, this just stinks & I signed up here just to say so. Shame on you, McCalls, to let this one get by your quality control! |

Let us know how it goes. |

Date: 9/19/12 8:41 AM Thanks for the response. I will call them today. But I don't want a new $1.99 pattern so much as I want to have my fabric cost reimbursed. I'm going ahead and using a Simplicity pattern to cut out new pants. They're easier to make anyway. I'm making this suit for a friend who needs it right away. ARgh. Maybe they can tell me how to fix the problem. Again, I have never had a problem like this with any pattern. It's interesting that you also had a problem w/a McCalls pattern. It should never happen. |

Date: 9/19/12 9:56 AM The thing to do is post an actual review. Your message here will get lost/buried eventually, but if you post a review people who are thinking of making this pattern will find your comments and know to avoid the pattern. ------ Viking Lily 545

Date: 9/19/12 6:16 PM LOL, love your title. Thanks for a good laugh.
And I have zero desire to buy another McCalls or Butterick, or even Vogue pattern ever again myself, too many pattern errors. McVoguerick we sometimes call it here. ------ Liz

Date: 9/20/12 3:33 PM OK, good idea. I'll have to figure out how to do that. I did call them and they admitted the pattern was off... told me to ease the top part and cut the bottom off even. Criminy, I can't believe they would put a pattern out like that. I'm just starting up a home sewing business & my first order was a Santa suit, but it'll all work out I'm sure. Thanks for the responses. |

Date: 9/20/12 6:17 PM That's a good one, too, Liz. Simplicity 2542 is the way to go for Santa suits. |

Date: 9/20/12 7:44 PM Thanks, Connie! No real answer from the McCall's people. That pants pattern is ridiculous, there's no way it could go together right. The crotch is all messed up. I had to buy more expensive velvet to cut new pants. Thanks for the welcome! |
