That's a question that Deepika will need to answer--I don't know how to do that....

Hi sammy94901,

You don't get a free class when you sign up, but you do get a free lesson.

You can access your free video lesson here:

http://vimeo.com/46431060

The lesson is called "How to Sew a Leather Clutch".

Happy sewing!

Subject: Background Noise Date: 9/26/12 3:54 PM

I got all excited about your video lesson until I watched the sample lesson. The background noise (music?) is so distracting that I can hardly hear what you are saying. I know whereof I speak as I have a master's degree in instructional technology and a doctorate in education. One of the first tenets of vodeo instruction is to reduce/eliminate all potentially distracting audio and visual elements. While backgroung music can be acceptable or even desired in an entertainment video, when students are learning new tasks, every effort should be made to ensure that nothing detracts from attention to the instructor. Please lose the background sounds because I reeeeeally would like to take your class.

I recently took your Jean-ius class and loved it! I have not made anything yet though; so far I just watched the videos.

I am very interested in taking the Clone Your Favorite Garment class because most of the items I want to copy/clone, are knit tops. I got the general idea of how to make a pattern from the Jean-ius class, but I think I need this class mainly to learn how to clone the sleeves.

This class is only 1-1/2 hours long but the Jean-ius class was much longer. Why such a discrepancy in the length of the videos? Does the Clone Your Favorite Garment class show you sewing up the garment, or is it just an instructional on how to make the pattern? Will it be suited to making a knit top?

I am really looking forward to taking another of your classes. You are an excellent teacher.

This class makes up with illustrative materials (the written, illustrated, and photo'ed pdf lessons) for the shortness of the video length. It is better suited for clothing other than jeans, and the information is geared for that as well.

Working with knits works the same way, as there is a definite lengthwise and crosswise grain--it looks a little different from woven, obviously, but the process is identical.

I looked up pearl cotton thread and there are numerous kids. What kind do you need for this class?

Any kind will do--also, plain white cotton basting thread works.
