They look like wool and come in a variety of prints, mostly plaids. They had some houndstooths but my store didn't have enough of those prints so I'm trying a plaid. Thanks for mentioning this. I'll follow along! If you choose the flannels from Joanne, watch for the width that you're buying. Recently I bought some there that was only 30+ inches wide. Also mine tended to pill after the first washing...it was 100% cotton. I certainly didn't expect that.

I really is an interesting design. My challenge will doing an fba. I am interested in the tricks for inside a coat that go beyond the pattern instructions.
