Date: 9/21/12 9:24 PM I've repeatedly tried uploading a thumbnail for this one particular review (http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/readreview.pl?readreview=1&reviewnum=75487), and no matter what I do to the photo, it keeps displaying zoomed in instead of full size. I did exactly the same thing for a different review (http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/readreview.pl?readreview=1&reviewnum=79425), and that one displays correctly. What in the world is going on?? |

Date: 9/24/12 0:57 AM One of two things may be happening. Firstly, when you upload a new thumbnail photo your computer is probably holding onto the earlier version so you need to refresh your screen (usually the F5 button).
Alternatively what may be happening is that PR is cropping your image in a funny way. PR crops your rectangular photo into a square thumbnail photo. Sometimes the cropping is not where you want it. What I usually do is make a copy of the photo I want to use as my thumnail and then crop it square myself - that way I can control where the cropping is happening...no chopped heads or terrible crotch shots! ------ Jenny, Perth, WA |

Date: 9/24/12 8:23 PM Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately, I actually did make a square crop of my image. It still zooms in. Also, when I didn't like the view of the thumbnail I uploaded in a different pattern review, I deleted the original image and uploaded a new one, which displayed just fine. I'm mystified! |

Date: 9/27/12 8:07 PM Whoops. You were right--I guess I never actually did the Refresh...silly me, I thought that uploading the photo would be enough to change what I saw. Now that I have re-uploaded AND Refreshed, I get the correct view. Thank you, jennleeC, and I'm sorry I was too dense not to try it sooner. |
