Date: 9/22/12 1:42 PM I finished 2 quilts for my new grand nieces. Learned to improve my binding and accept that some hand sewing is worth the effort. The Entwined Hearts is my first paper piecing project.

Date: 9/22/12 1:48 PM Oh wow. I especially like the pink bows. That is a really cute pattern. The grand neices are going to love these wonderful gifts. You did a fantastic job on them. You should be very proud of yourself. ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

Date: 9/22/12 3:12 PM Beautiful quilts -- particularly love the Pink Bows. The green and pink are perfect together yet unexpected.
You have 2 very lucky grand nieces.
I'm just getting back into quilting and am going to start with 2 smaller wall hangings I picked up in kit format at the Madison, WI Quilt Expo -- eventually I'd like to make each of the grandkids a quilt in their favourite colours.

Date: 9/22/12 3:46 PM Beautiful!
I love the Storm at Sea /hearts variation. That's such a great pattern. Someone (maybe Eleanor Burns?) has a non-paper piece method for making Storm at Sea using special rotary templates, but I think paper piecing is the way to go for anything with not-45-degree angles. What did you think of it? ------ Tess

Date: 9/22/12 8:22 PM Fabulous! The Entwined Hearts--the curves especially; were those done like Cathedral Windows? Or maybe it's an optical illusion of how it's laying. -- Edited on 9/22/12 8:23 PM -- ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Date: 9/23/12 6:11 AM I love them both. I dream of quilting. Have never done it since Girl Scout days of old when I had to hand quilt a square to earn a badge in the 5th grade, LOL. (I'm 57 now!). I have a new embroidery machine and want to combine quilting and machine applique to do some baby blankets. I know that's cheating...... for you REAL quilters... but it might get me started!
