Date: 9/23/12 2:29 AM I just bought a bunch of quilter's cotton in prints and I'd like to make up some tops to wear under cardigans and jackets this fall and winter. I also have some poly chiffon-like fabric that I want to make a top with - and that one's really hard to find a pattern for. I'm having trouble finding patterns that I like for woven tops, though. It seems like everything is made for knits every time I look. I have Colette's Sorbetto pattern which I'm going to make a muslin for soon, but I'd like to have a variety of patterns to mix things up so I'm looking for more. So what do you like for woven tops?

Liberty Shirt from Sewing Workshop
In colder weather, I also wear it under a ponte knit waterfall-type cardigan that I made from Sewing Workshop's Valencia Jacket. I have lengthened, shortened, changed the collar and made the Liberty shirt many different times.
I only have a few patterns from Louise Cutting aka Cutting Line Designs, but I want more because of the instructions. Like the SW patterns, you will find great tips for a finished blouse that looks like expensive RTW. I am making this one now for winter layering under a wool vest:

She has quite a few patterns for tops available, all for wovens. ------

I'm looking for short sleeves or sleeveless mostly, so I can wear these under cardigans and jackets and not be too hot, but I could always use a variety of styles. I think I'm looking for more detailed things since I have the Collette Sorbetto, which seems like a pretty basic shell. I'd like to make some with some fun details. ------

Date: 9/23/12 2:22 PM Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! These all look great. I think I even have Simplicity 2599 in my pattern stash. I'd love to get even more if anyone else reading this has suggestions! I wear these kinds of tops with skirts and cardigans/jackets all winter long, so I'll be making a ton of them! I just seem to find more woven prints that I like than knit prints, plus I think I look better in garments with more structure, and wovens usually have more structure than knits, though of course it depends on what your particular fabric is. ------

Date: 9/23/12 2:43 PM Someone mentioned this pattern somewhere on PR and I thought that this pattern looked perfect for what I wanted, so I purchased it last week. I don't buy a lot of new patterns because I have so many patterns, many of which are easy to update. This pattern came out in 1999! How did I miss it for 13 years? See, even when I buy a new pattern, it's not new. 
I did read the reviews on it, and all said the same: that it is quite easy. Because it's more of a warm weather top, I'll probably wait for awhile to sew it. If you sew it, let us know how it worked for you. ------

Actually, I think that 13 years ago, I didn't have this midriff that is trying to creep out past my bust; I could wear knit tops. Fast forward. I need tees that won't outline my middle where my waist use to be, and this might be The One. ------
