Hi all-
I always see people with belts as accessories to cinch in their waists, my question is, how do you know what belt is appropriate? I love to sew but I can't dress myself to save my life.
Thanks for any help

This doesn't actually answer your question, but it may help.

I wore uniforms right up to college so I really have an underdeveloped sense of fashion.

I subscribe to Harpers Bazaar. You can get it for $10 a year: a buck an issue. I keep two folders: red for hot weather, blue for cold. Every month, I go through that magazine, rip out pictrues I like and file them. I tell you, I don't even read the articles!

Then I try to match pictures with patterns and rip off the idea.

You'll get lots of ideas on how to wear belts.

Anything?

That's exactly my problem too, I wore a uniform in private school, then all of my jobs were either a uniform or scrubs...leaving me cluelessThank you for the tip!

There are a lot of great style blogs, and they have inspired me to wear belts more often, and not just through belts loops. You could check out alreadypretty.com, youlookfab.com, and insideoutstyleblog.com. All of those blogs have search bars so you can find posts specifically about belts. They also have some posts about dressing different body shapes, which can affect where you wear a belt and which kinds look best.
You can also just google "how to wear belts" and you'll get all kinds of links.
