Contrast on mono screens? is it just me?

I'm not in the market immediately, but whenever. My main complaint? Is it just me, or is there so very little contrast on the monochrome screens? I know I failed to ask if the screens could be adjusted, so it may not really be an issue, but I was looking for some input on the matter. I just did not like looking at them anymore. I wanted color and I am so glad I bought it. My eyes like it much better. It is easier for me to focus, too. You are not alone when it comes to how your eyes adjust to mono screens. ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. I had a Babylock Espire and one the things a didn't like was the monochrome. It was crisp and I could see everything clearly, but I prefer color. The new Babylock Cresendo seems like a nice machine with a large harp and a color screen. I wonder if it has a default left needle position. That was another thing that I didn't like about my Espire.

Personally, I did not mind it at all and when I compared the Esante to the Ellageo, the contrast, crispness, brightness, etc. was the same. The only difference was one had a color screen and the other didn't. In fact, I was actually impressed at how well the screen displayed, and you can adjust it to your liking. Now, to be fully honest, when I upgraded to the Ellisimo Gold, I was blown away at the color screen and I could now see the colors for my embroidery patterns and could see the pattern much better as well. However, if you're looking for a sewing only machine, then I don't think color should be that big of a deal only because you're not embroidering, so I don't see why color would be totally necessary outside of just a personal preference. I would check out the Babylock Symphony or the new Crescendo, which does have a color screen and is sewing only, plus it has the really large harp of 11.25" ------ Babylock Ellisimo Gold Babylock Enlighten Kenmore 1914 Kenmore 1814

It's on "page 1" of the machine settings and you can select there. You just can't select this if you set the machine to default to the quilting stitches main page as opposed to the utility stitches main page. Good info on the screens. I wouldn't need color on a sewing only machine, but if it helped a whole lot then okay. I'd just like very very dark icons and such. And I wouldn't want white icons on a dark screen. This was one feature that blew me away on that TOL Janome 12000. The screen was so awesome. Very dark, heavy icons and fonts. I loved it.
