I'm still searching.

I made Vogue 8151 (the Sandra Betzina T) and loved the fit. I didn't like the neckline though. I want one with a more scooped out neck.

I need to try the cross over t in that pattern. I want to try more T's but I'm getting tired of striking out!

When you share, would you also share whether or not you do a FBA and other info people may appreciate?

Jalie 965, but I think it's OOP. I've had to retrace 3 times as each one wears out. I've used it for PJ's, dress tops, and to refashion RTW tops and knit dresses.

If you got a fit you like, why don't you just buy patterns with necklines that interest you and merge the two patternsfor neckline only. That way you take advantage of the time you put it getting a nice fit, but add a wardrobe of necklines.

Marymary86, I'm a component sewer, a little of this, a little of that.

On the side ruching of V8151, do you think it would be practical to draw that up with a very stretchy stitch or even with elastic thread?

I don't normally wear my shirts long - it accents the wrong things - but I want to try some stretchy ruching along the bottom side seams for the gym so my desired 'streetwear' length is compatible with my desire for modesty in the gym. Using the exercise ball is the worst belly exposing culprit.

I'm with you on the view B neckline of V8151, it is neither one thing or the other. My necklines have to do more for me than that.

I didn't sew that view and I'm not sure I understand your question about the ruching. I hope someone responds.

If you'd like, I can check on the instructions for you and see what S. Betzina suggests on the guide sheet.

I made StyleArc's Shelly and felt like its ruching just accentuated my belly (not my best feature ;)

Mine is from Ottobre Woman--2/2007 issue, but I have been happy with other Pttobre Woman Ts as well as Burda.

my favorite tee is Christine Jonson's Basewear 2 tee. It has a shoulder slope similar to my shoulders, so the shoulders fit perfectly. The armhole is high, but not so high as to cause armpit drag, the curve of the side seams perfectly skims my figure, sleeves are not too big, not too small. It has a higher jewel neckline that I adjust each time I make it depending on the look I am going for.

As mentioned before, now that I have this pattern that fits well, I make tons of design changes using it as a base. HTH

I just made a tee that's posted on PR blog, by Maria Denmark.

(it's part of my Mini-wardrobe contest entry!)
I loved this tee!!
It was so simple to make and the fit was great!!
I have few knits in my stash, and I really thought about making this tee from all the knits!

I've avoided boat-necks because some show straps or cut across collarbone. How do you figure shoulder-to-neck opening for this?

For longer T's you can copy RTW for ruching by sewing a narrow strip of elastic just up one side. Start at the bottom and stretch/pin upwards along the side SA, then pin to whatever length you like. This makes them dressier but not as clingy as ruching both sides to emphasize tummy.

The free fabric.com scarf T has a nice curved shape with in-one cap sleeve, just leave off the scarf and vary your necklines.

Does anyone have a favorite cowl neck, not low? And preference for separate or all-in-one front facing?

If you want a knit, my favorite is Jalie 2908 T-shirt
I am a recent Jalie convert. I have purchased Jalie 2805 but have not made it yet. Jalie's great fit and ease of construction have won me over.
