Date: 10/1/12 5:08 PM I'd love to make this Burda pattern:

But unfortunately I would have to do an FBA on it... but, how much? And where?
Some of the ease for a larger bust size would be handled in the gathers all up and down the front of the shirt... some would be in more room around... I am doubting my usual pivot and slide method will work here. Thoughts appreciated! |

Date: 10/1/12 9:20 PM Make a normal fba, either leaving it as a dart or rotate the dart into the cf ruching. Amount depends on the size you choose and how large your bust is. I choose my Burda size by my upper bust measurement and increase one size at the underarm. I figure my fba by subtracting the bust measurement of the pattern size from my bust measurement and dividing by two. ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |

Date: 10/5/12 12:22 PM Ooh. I'd love to try rotating the dart into the ruching. Think I better try this on a "wearable muslin" fabric.
Thanks for the guidance! |
