Has anyone used MicroStitch to baste quilt MicroStitch

A local quilt shop employee tells me you can sew right over them; is this true. I want to FMQ my quilt after basting. I am told the fasteners leave no mark as they are so fine. I bought one of those about 10 years ago and then kind of lost interest in quilting and never used it. I researched these several years ago and Avery Dennison was the one recommended. The complaints were that they put holes in the fabrics. This one is micro-sized so I think it might work pretty well! For $20, you could probably find other uses if it didn't perform well for basting.

I saw a quilt [lap size] that the user was snipping the tags from and it did not appear to have holes. I found the idea good, but the original tacks are way too long for my preference. The write-up for the MicroStitch indicates this would be a much better notion than the original product as the tacks are thinner and shorter. May give it a try. No mention of protecting the needle.
