For those who didn't catch last night's 'Watchdog' of BBC 1, it had a 'Rogue Trader' expose of a company all too well-known on some UK-based sewing forums for its abusive customer service.

iPlayer link here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b01n862z/

For those who can't get iPlayer, the text of the item can be read here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mg74/features/rogue-traders-coopers-sewing

The company in question has a web presence, also on Amazon and on the TV shopping channels, so if you're buying a sewing machine that way, you may find the item of interest.

Wow, that's quite the story. I can't access the video, but thanks for including the text version. I can't imagine why anyone would treat customers that way and expect to stay in business.

Side note -- a good thing -- I just love Kirstie Allsopp. Here's an article I just found about her. I've posted a quote from her (from the article) afterwards.

Daily Mail article

Quote:
‘I think all women should be able to drill, paint, wallpaper, sew and cook. I’m a passionate believer in doing things yourself across the whole sphere.
‘My fear is not that women can’t do things, it is that they think can’t do them. If you never want to pick up a needle that’s fine but you shouldn’t think you can’t.
‘I would never advocate women doing one thing or having one skill but I would say if you don’t learn to do these things like sewing, cooking and DIY then we are not doing ourselves any favours.’

-- Kirstie Allsopp

Amazing story....good grief. So sorry that any business would behave this way, but you know, as soon as the spotlight is off, this guy will revert because he sounds like some snake oil guy from the git-go! Sounds like the kind of guy that opens up "Fast Sam's Used Cars and Cheap Pizza."
