I don't understand normally how some people seem to get their hands on such bargains. I think in America you have more options and sales.

But today I feel I have finally hit the jack pot. The owner of the shop when I queried the price explained he has several bolts of it and wants to make some space. He got it from a factory when they were moving and needed to get rid of their stock.

If you would like to see a photo please click here.

Oh, and if you have any thoughts on what I should make with the rest once I have made the dress I have planned please do say....

Lovely fabric. Great deal.
How about trying your hand at making a hat?

Very nice fabric. Lucky you!

Some of last winter's high top vintage-ish shoes looked like they might be screaming for spats.

Spats and a hat? She has SIX METERS!! Is she going to make spats and hats for all of us?! LOL

That is a GLORIOUS find, R. I think I would probably just cuddle it for a while! :D

A wonderful find for sure. I love the color.
After you make the dress will there be enough left over for a vest?

What about a matching coat or jacket for your dress?

thank you all for sharing in my enjoyment in my fabric find. I thought it might help with the pattern suggestions if I posted a link to the (vintage) pattern I plan to use to make a dress from it (link here)

I'm not sure what kind of hat would go with this style of dress. A coat (light weight of course) might go with it though. It's not a style I have bought/made before, but I really like the overall look.
