"And here is a little known—but my new favorite—use for the walking foot: topstitching on knits. You no longer have to watch the knits creep and bunch as you topstitch seams, finish neck edges, or stitch up the hems. I learned this trick from Linda Lee of The Sewing Workshop and now can’t imagine working with knits without my walking foot." written by Rose Deboer.

Date: 10/14/12 11:48 PM Yes, the walking foot is a favorite of alot of sewists, me included. I make many knit garments and it is great to have. Glad you have discovered it. |

Date: 10/15/12 0:21 AM I have a walking foot and have used it a few times. My Elna 5100 does a great job without it on MOST knits...but I will attach it if the knit is tricky to sew with the reg foot. ------ my blog: http://kf-biblioblog.blogspot.com/

Date: 10/15/12 8:57 AM Thanks for sharing. I do have problems with some knits and never thought to use my walking foot. I'll try it out.
Thanks again.
