Help! Honey on silk velvet!

Gentle blotting with cool clear water to dissolve the honey didn't really work, and I'm also left with a crunchy spot where it got wet. What can I do to save it? Help! But, try it on an unseen spot first. Then use the same type brush (dry) when the fabric is mostly dry. -- Edited on 10/10/12 1:25 PM --

If your tunic is washable, it should be able to take a bit of soaking. Hot water is more effective than cold at dissolving sugar, too, if the velvet can stand it. Given washability, I'd do this: Soak the spot in a little bowl of hot water. When you can feel the hardened honey getting soft, add a bit of dish detergent and work it gently into the bad spot until you can feel the crunchiness going away. After that, repeated rinsings and a little work with fingers or maybe a soft, soft brush should do the job. Here are some other suggestions.
