Date: 10/15/12 12:03 PM Hi all,
I'm contemplating going to my dealer today to look at either new or used BL sergers. I think they have interest free financing right now and I'm just dying to get my hands on a BL.
My question is more for the used models (if they have any)... what is a good price for a used BL Imagine or Enlighten? I know they've made the Imagine for many years, so I'm sure age will have something to do with pricing, but I rarely see them posted on CL or Ebay, so I'm wondering if my sewing friends have any thoughts on this??

Date: 10/15/12 12:44 PM One of the BL dealers I visited had a used Imagine for sale for $900. HTH's
ETA I should add that this machine was being sold by one of the ladies that worked at the store - it was her machine.

I should also add that her serger came with the 6 traditional promo feet and the Inspirational Guide, but she wasn't sure about a warranty since the shop owner was not there that day. -- Edited on 10/16/12 4:03 PM -- |

Date: 10/16/12 1:16 AM I have a BL Evolution and absolutely love it! Go to yahoogroups.com and then sewitsforsale (group). Great place just for sewists! I have seen Imagines and Enlightens for sale on there. Once you have joined (free) you can put in what you are looking for. Worth checking out! |

Date: 10/16/12 3:07 AM I think you are going to find the higher pricier prices at the dealer's. $900-1700+ for used sergers. Remember that this also provides you with a warranty, a supportive smile, lifetime classes and an answer to any question about your purchase. That said, if those are things that you don't need, a private sale is usually for less money (but not always). ------ re-living my youth through sewing... |

1 member likes this. Date: 10/16/12 3:10 PM I had a friend up in Seattle on business, she said she would bring a serger back for me. I called around and found some wonderfully helpful women at a shop I'm Isuquah. They had a brand - new.-used only a few times imagine, it came with the rolling case an array of feet and the extra binder with decorative stitch ideas. I paid $1200. I am happy.
Part of my deal was that they would give me tech support if I needed it .
I called them for help last week, and they walked me though threading and gave me other pointers. There is no sewing machine dealer in La Paz, and no one I would trust to repair either of my machines. It is worth so much to know that I have someone I can call for help!

Date: 10/18/12 8:47 AM I would encourage you to spring for the Evolution. As you grow into your serger, you will want to be more adventurous and being able to do coverstitch and many other bells and whistles are well worth the price. Don't be intimidated. This is a great brand and a great machine! ------ Total Stash at end of 2011 -- 700 yds. ??...
2012 Total Items Sewn -- 14
2012 Total Stash Used -- 28.125 (yay!)

2012 Goal: 700 yds. or less for Dec. 31, 2012.

Date: 10/18/12 11:38 AM You have the cover stitch right? I like having a designated machine for serging and another for coverstitch as I go from one to the other in most garments. Date: 10/18/12 7:47 PM I already have a coverstitch machine so I'm not at all interested in the Evolution.
I'm probably too stingy to go for the Enlighten, so it will prolly be the Imagine.
I'm hoping to venture to the dealer(s) tomorrow.... we shall see :-) ------ Brother Innovis 1250D
