Subject: New Video Class - Restyling with Exposed Zippers Date: 10/16/12 12:18 PM Ok this might be my favorite class so far. Angela is teaching the much awaited exposed zipper class in a fun video format.
- Exposed Zippers on a simple-T
- Adding Zippered Pockets
- Altering a Skirt with Exposed Zippers
- Altering a 2-piece Sleeve Pattern to Allow for Exposed Zippers
-Altering the Front of a Jacket Pattern for Exposed Zippers
I think I might try the exposed zipper on the T first!

A note about our classes: There has been some confusion about whether or not you can access the classes after they are over. Yes! from your account page, if you scroll down to the Sewing Classes section you can see all of the classes you've registered and taken since we started doing this in 2002! The classes are categorized by the year you signed up for them so clicking on the year will bring up all the classes took then.

Subject: Exposed zipper video class Date: 10/16/12 2:10 PM Is there a sample video to view? If so, I wasn't able to open it.
My question: Will there be any instruction on how to construct a facing for the zipper on the inside of the garment (to cover the zipper tapes, etc), or does an "exposed" zipper in this class mean only zippers (and their tapes) being applied to the outside of the garments?
Thanks |

Subject: restyling zipper video preview Date: 10/16/12 2:44 PM Deepika, I get this error message and a broken picture link:
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at player.vimeo.com.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
It may have something to do with my FireFox settings, though I don't know what the problem is - I can't play any youtube videos either.
I will switch to Chrome and see if it's a browser problem.
Thanks anyway |

Subject: Re: restyling zipper video preview Date: 10/16/12 5:12 PM Hi Hazelnut,
This class shows both - how to add an exposed zipper with the fabric edged finished and turned under as well as adding a facing first, then add a zipper. If there is something else about exposed zippers that you need you can always post the question to the class board and I will help in any way. Hope you get the video to work.

Date: 11/7/12 0:07 AM Hi, I was wondering if you know how to get hold of these zippers in Australia. Are there any retailers in the US that would ship here? I gather we can use other brands of zippers for the class?
Thanks |

Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 11/7/12 6:59 AM These are all Coats & Clark zippers and I will send them a note to see where you might purchase these. Of course you could use any zipper if you have another source. This lesson covers various styles and lengths. I will let you know what I find out :)
