Date: 10/18/12 6:52 AM My dressform is too large, and I am tired of struggling with it. I have reviewed all the posts on the Uniquely You dressform. The small measurements in the natural I have found here on PR in another thread. Does anyone have the petite form measurements before adding the cover?
What I need most is width across the back shoulders, upperbust, underbust, shoulder to bust point. and anything else. Many thanks!! ------ There is no easy way! quote from my Grandfather

Date: 10/18/12 12:26 PM I had to do some slicing and dicing to the foam with an electric knife before I got my shell to fit. I ended up slicing the bust portions off and moved them up 1".
If I had it to do over again I would have gotten a smaller size and padded it out. Even if I had gotten a smaller size I think I would still have had to move the bust up.
The womanl that helped me fit the canvas shell did a great job.
It did take my husband, a friend and me to get that shell on the foam part. I didn't think we would get the foam compressed enough to get that shell zipped up. It was a struggle. -- Edited on 10/18/12 12:32 PM -- ------ Ada

Date: 10/18/12 1:23 PM The one I have now is a UY form. My shell was fit very well in a class for this dressform. Unfortunately the form has grown since then. I also have narrow shoulders and struggle with the "arms" sticking out, they hinder my garments. I plan on giving this form to my MIL . Hers is too big & grew also. We upzipped, cut & moved the bust like you did, then struggled to rezipped it.
I disagree with the recommendation to size to your hips, it should be to your shoulders & bust, as the hips can be taken up or let out very easily. My poor MIL bought the one that was the size of her hips, even though we questioned, and it is really 2 sizes to big for her bust and shoulder area. (upper torso) Not working well.
I am trying to decide between the small & petite and needed the sizing for the petite to compare. Thanks! ------ There is no easy way! quote from my Grandfather

Looks like you've managed to get a bit of arm in your back measurement-- it looks closer to 13 inches. |

Date: 12/30/12 0:36 AM Thanks Andye for posting the link (I can't figure out how to do it), and yes, I ran the tape measure from arm to arm, as I wasn't sure exactly what part of the upper back Restart06 wanted measured, and I thought by seeing the tape measure, it would help.
FYI, I should finish fitting the shell tomorrow and will then wrestle it onto the form, so if you want any more info on the dress form, let me know. ------ Janome New Home MC 6000
