Finally found a robe pattern that was just what I wanted and I finished it and need to replace the zipper as it is too short. Any suggestions as how to sew it in as all sides are sewn together. Only thing I could think of is to create a back seam or open a side seam.

Ya... i don't think there is any other way to insert a zipper unless you have a seam. I would probably just open one of the side seams and put it there UNLESS you think that will get annoying having to zip it up and down on the side. It that's the case, then you might have to make a front or back seam. Make sure to be careful when putting it in thay you don't make it too small in the process! Good luck!

Thank you for the hint. I read the instructions with the zipper and they suggest to sew it from the inside having the seam allowance turned up and the fabric away from it. After that to top sew it on the front of the garment. Will try that first to see if it works.

Yes, the instructions to sew the zipper on the inside seam do work, and it was very easy to do. Was an answer to my problem.
