I'm making this jacket for my daughter
and I'm using a medium weight flannel that is rather soft (a bit too soft I think for this style). I've tried several fusible interfacings on samples of the fabric and settled on one (vlieseline H410) which gives it a really nice hand. Now I really feel the entire front of this jacket should be interfaced, but this jacket has no side seams. The front wraps around to side back. So If I interfaced the whole front piece I'd be interfacing the side backs at the same time. I feel the top back could benefit from interfacing as well, so I'm wondering should I interface the whole thing? would the sleeves be more difficult to ease in if they are interfaced? Would it be weird for the whole body of the jacket to be interfaced but not the sleeves?
Here's a picture of our inspiration piece

You can interface an entire jacket with interfacing -- I've done this many times. Keep in mind that you can always use a lighter weight interfacing for the sleeves. The best way to ease in jacket sleeves is with a strip of men's necktie interfacing. Good luck!

Thanks Nancy. Maybe a stretchy interfacing for the sleeves ? I have one that is extremely soft.

A soft or stretchy interfacing sounds like a good choice.
