Date: 10/29/12 11:51 PM I made a muslin and it fits very close. I can't decide if I should add 1/4" each side (1" total) at the hips just for a bit more ease or leave it. I don't wear jackets closed anyway and I'm losing weight so it should fit the way it's supposed to in a couple of months anyway.
It really could use an FBA but I don't want a visible bust dart and there really is nowhere to hide it so rotating the dart won't work.
So what do you all think? Opinions welcome!
Thanks.

As someone who needs an FBA, I learned long ago that darts are our best friends when it comes to a good fit whether you wear the jacket buttoned or not. It looks pretty good but the FBA would make it look great IMHO. |

2 members like this. Date: 10/30/12 2:12 PM I just made up the Colette Anise jacket, which has no darts in the front, and had to add in a bust dart for a 2.5" FBA. I was terrified it would change the lines/look of the jacket, but honestly you really can't tell that it's there. The difference in fit is worth the dart, IMO. I have no pulling at the front, and the jacket looks nice and fitted as it's supposed to. ------ http://reddthreads.wordpress.com/

Date: 10/30/12 3:33 PM I knew you guys were going to say that! I only need about 1/2". I know because although you can't see it in the picture but it forms into a perfect little dart at the arm.
Does anyone have any suggestions where I could hide the dart? I'm thinking I could rotate it and somehow hide it in or near the collar seam?
Or was someone suggesting adding it to the existing dart (0h, wait, was that a light bulb coming on over my head?)? Can someone tell me how to do that?
Thanks
Susan
